Inspired by Paithani Weave

Paithani is one of the finest hand-woven gold and silk textiles. It is called the queen of silk because it is one of the most expensive textiles in India. It holds a treasured place in the closet of a Maharashtrian bride. The Paithani weave dates back to 2nd century AD. A woven gold border and bright colored body is characteristic of the saree. The motifs woven on the fabric are lotus flowers, peacocks, parrots, and flowering vines.
